Wind Up Sculptures
"Windup" (H130/220/75cm, 2010), is a sculpture that combines playfulness and anxiety. It speaks
about fragility and fear of letting go in relationship. The viewer encounters a life size ceramic sculptural
installation that works as an enlarged windup toy. In the installation there are two figures; one of them
is a male figure with a key in his back. From his chest a thread goes through his fingers to the back of
the second figure, a blindfolded girl. When the viewer turns the key three times, the thread pulls the girl
figure till it reaches a danger point and then releases her. The sculpture is interactive in a magical way.
It will only move if the viewer chooses to become part of the art work and wind the sculpture up.
